The Conveyancing Shop Lawyers walked away with two major Awards at the Westpac Auckland Business Awards this year for Excellence in Community Contribution and Excellence in Strategy and Planning. This is quite an achievement for a small family run business who were up against much larger players. Finalist in their categories included DHL Express NZ Limited, Manukau Urban Maori Authority, Park Supplies Company Limited, Legal Associates, Ceracell Beekeeping Supplies and IBBZ Accounting.
What was their winning strategy? Director Thada Chapman explains, “It is quite simple really – we want to do more! Do more for our clients, more for our team and more for the community. Having a positive impact is of far greater importance to us than profits.” Since opening in 2005 the Conveyancing Shop Lawyers have been trailblazers in their industry starting with fixed transparent pricing and the development of state of the art technology and systems to offer a seamless service to clients. They recently took this a step further and made the bold move to replace 2 physical branches with company cars on the road offering a mobile legal service to clients doors.
Excellence in Community Contribution is a new category in the Westpac Awards this year, it recognises a company for outstanding support and involvement in the community. Thada Chapman says that, “We support a many causes, organisations and community groups with donations, free educational seminars, internship opportunities and sponsorships, but most importantly we give freely of our time and expertise.” In an industry where days are typically measured in billable hours it is refreshing to see the Conveyancing Shops management team out and about during working hours supporting some of the most vulnerable members of society the elderly, former refugees and the homeless.
The Conveyancing Shop Lawyers head office is in the landmark building on the roundabout at 2 King Street, Pukekohe with a second branch in Botany and an Auckland wide mobile legal service. They specialise in property law, buying and selling of businesses, franchising, trusts, wills and a wide range of associated legal services.
