The past 12 months have been a blur for the all-girl team at Counties Customs & Cargo, for all the right reasons! And they have certainly achieved what they set out to, and that is proving their commitment to the local community.
It is evident just by judging the increase in workload, that this has been very successful, to the point where the office at 1/23 Hall Street, Pukekohe is now at maximum capacity!
“We have visited as many local businesses as we can, and thanks to Sharon, our in-house baker, often managed to drop in a tray of our trademark home-made cupcakes - if we have missed you, we apologise – give us a call and we’ll be right over!” insists Naomi.
A division of Malcolm Total Logistics, (a medium sized New Zealand owned International Freight Forwarder), Counties Customs and Cargo ( CCC) enjoys the benefits from a company that has refined a formula for over 30 years, offering buying power that smaller importers could never previously enjoy, and the unbiased advice that is the hallmark of their business. In addition, they have a Customer Services team who can make just about anything happen, from international freight, 3rd party warehousing, cartage and more.
New clients from the Franklin region include some who have never traded internationally previously, and who have relied on the advice and guidance of CCC to avoid the expensive pitfalls that could have been terminal in the formulative stages of any business. Whether small, low value shipments from Australia, or a large and very expensive machine from further afield, we’ve seen and handled just about anything for clients who were daunted by the prospect and procedures.
It can be daunting for a new business or an existing one to deal with expansion, however, CCC will always help new clients get underway.
“We’re happy to answer questions, offer advice and costings (at no charge) and over the years we’ve seen many clients progress from ‘acorns’ into ‘mighty oak trees’.”
There have also been one or two substantial importers who initially saw little benefit in dealing with a local team – and who have subsequently realised that the “big players” they had worked with for years had not really been looking after their best interests.
"We offer significant benefits to those progressive companies who appreciate the honesty of a fresh perspective – as most clever people know - to keep doing things the way they’ve always been done is to court failure, and even the All Blacks keep striving for the ‘perfect game’.”
“Once people meet us, they can see that we are the ‘real deal’ – we care, and because we have no ‘barrows to push’ and are totally unbiased, we offer a guarantee – something that no one else in the industry does.”
The team at CCC are a wealth of knowledge, and In addition to the usual “office-based” services, provide the following:
a) Cartage (end delivery of a shipment imported through their services / collection of an export shipment) – their own fleet of curtain side trucks, from small to large, some with tail lifts, delivers to Pukekohe most days saving their clients at least 1-3 days.
b) Warehousing / 3rd party pick and pack – CCC have a large Ministry of Primary Industries approved ATF facility at Airport Oaks, and handle all manner of products, some big and bulky, others small and fiddly – and like everything they do, this is done at very competitive rates.
This allows clients to concentrate on selling their products rather than the time and expense of handling / processing / picking and packing themselves. Unless fully optimised, the fixed costs of an owned or leased facility, staff, forklifts, etc can quickly turn what should be a profitable venture into a nightmare.
