It’s hard to believe the events that have transpired in the last few weeks, but happen they have and as we enter another week in our bubbles, our daily routines are very much different than they were a few weeks ago.
We go out for ‘essential supplies’, exercise in a local space keeping 2m from the nearest walker, check in with the official COVID-19 information available daily on the news, connect to our friends and neighbours using a multitude of technologies and are in turn discovering new ways to appease our inherent need to be busy.
Despite media being deemed an essential service, distribution of our magazines risks the health of many young and older people in our community. elocal has made the difficult decision to not print our April edition, deciding instead on focusing on a bumper online edition with a special ANZAC feature.
Whilst many of our advertisers have had to close their doors, there are some with a strong online presence, others who are able to provide their services utilising technology, so I encourage all of you to still interact with our local businesses. When this all returns to some sense of normalcy, they will all need our custom even more than before.
In the meantime, enjoy this edition, sign up for notifications, like elocal’s new Facebook page, as throughout this time, we will be updating elocal with articles and signing up for notifications will ensure you get the early nod on some of the best content around.
Also, If you have a story you would like to share, please email me on editorial@elocal. co.nz . Most importantly at this time, stay safe, stay in your bubble and read elocal!
