Bringing the Mediterranean to Pukekohe

with Paasha Turkish Cafe

We may for the foreseeable future be unable to travel overseas with the same freedoms as we had a few years ago, but that doesn’t mean we can’t experience the flavours of the world! One of the benefits of a nation developed from an immigrant background means we can experience international flavours with true authenticity and Paasha Turkish restaurant is no exception.

Owner Mustafa was born in Turkey, making New Zealand his home in 2001 and his restaurant Paasha located in the heart of Pukekohe has been a destination for many years for those who want to experience the true taste of the Mediterranean. Authentic Italian wood fired pizzas such as Capricciosa or Margarita. Mouth-watering Greek dishes like Moussaka made traditionally with aubergine or a full range of Doner and Shish kebabs hailing from Turkish shores. All prepared using the freshest and best local produce and meats you can buy in Pukekohe.

One of Paasha’s specialities is the range of ‘Meze’ or small dishes that are available on the menu. The word is found in all the cuisines of the former Ottoman Empire, and originated from the Turkish word meaning a snack or appetiser. This, in turn, originated from the Persian word «Maza», which means to taste or relish.

Relish is certainly an apt term and allows you to fully appreciate the immense range of tastes and flavours that come from the area whilst your other senses soak up the authentic ambiance that Mustafa has created by fully refurbishing the restaurant.

Everything was designed, handmade and shipped from Turkey and handpicked to represent what good food, friends and family means to Mustafa and he wants to share it with you and your friends and family. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner It truly is the most amazing, fully authentic Mediterranean experience you can get without leaving the country!
