Counties Medical are happy to announce the opening of our newly built medical Centre at Waiata Shores, Takanini. 2 Te Napi drive, Waiata Shores, Takanini. This clinic replaces the previous Takanini clinic on Great South Road. The clinic gives local families the option of two Centres to attend, one in Papakura and Takanini again.
We will be known as Counties Medical Takanini (Te Tumu Hauora). Te Tumu Hauora is a maaori philosophy of health that is unique to Aotearoa It comprises of: Taha tinana (the physical dimension), Physical wellbeing as well as the physical body, its growth, development, and ability to move, and ways of caring for it.
This clinic is well situated to provide locals with a convenient health clinic in a bigger modern facility. It combines an Urgent Care clinic, with specialist trained urgent care Dr’s and nurses, and a GP service, aiming to provide the best care available.
The Urgent Care opening hours are Mon to Friday 8am to 8pm with the view to open clinic no appointments necessary. Our Urgent Care clinic is to provide you with treatment for an accident where you have an injury or an illness that requires urgent medical attention but is not serious enough to warrant a visit to the public hospital emergency room.
The GP clinic and GP nurse are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8-5pm. The GP clinic is taking enrolments from new patients. If you are looking for a new GP or are new to Takanini, come and see us.

On the 9th of February we had a blessing of the new clinic with the Kaumatua from Papakura Marae officiating, a beautiful sunrise greeted the team.
Our very first patient on the opening day Monday 13th February was gifted a box of gourmet treats just for being the first patient through the doors.
We are joined at this site by SRG Radiology who will be offering, state of the art imaging providing a community focussed, much needed, well-appointed facility.
