The Natural Health Alliance believes
this will signifi cantly increase prices and
limit New Zealanders’ access to natural
health products.
These products have been regulated by the Food Act for
decades, which the Natural Health Alliance believes has
served well both our industry and the safety of
New Zealanders.
The Therapeutic Products Act recently pushed through
Parliament by the Labour Government now regulates
these products alongside pharmaceutical medicines.
We believe these new regulations will drive many
suppliers and health practitioners out of business.
New Zealand First stood up for the natural health
products industry in 2007 and in 2017 by stopping
similar legislation.
New Zealand First supports the right of New
Zealanders’ continued access to natural health
products without the unnecessary bureaucratic
interference of government.
This election, Rt Hon Winston Peters has stated
New Zealand First will repeal the Therapeutic
Products Act.
We urge pharmacists, natural health store owners,
online outlets and Kiwi consumers to make a vote
for good health.
