Getting ‘Results That Move You!’

Motivated to achieve the very best for her clients in all sorts of property markets

with Alison Kemp – Barfoot & Thompson

Real estate has become a way of life for Alison Kemp and it is evident from the moment you meet her that she wouldn’t change it.

“My focus is on delivering service to my clients beyond their expectations and hopefully a very positive experience in what can be a very stressful time. My clients are my absolute number one priority.” says Alison.

“I just love property and seeing how people stamp their own personality on their property. Helping clients move on from one stage to another, giving free advice and marketing their homes to the best advantage in order to achieve the best possible price for them – there's nothing quite like it.”

Alison’s knowledge of both Real Estate and the local market is second to none. Alison specialises in the Papakura and Conifer Grove areas, along with Karaka and Takanini. Having bought her first house in Papakura, she has lived in and around the area ever since and has extensive knowledge of what’s going on in an area growing at an ever-increasing rate.

“I’ve seen incredible change in our community over the years. It has always had a real community vibe, and with the growth in the area, it is really developing as a thriving community of choice for first home buyers, and those downsizing, very much a best kept secret. Affordable, but still able to easily commute for work and it is close to all public amenities.”

Alison counts herself fortunate to be part of the Barfoot & Thompson team.

“I feel I owe a lot of my success to being affiliated with one of the best brands in real estate that 49.1% current market share in the Papakura region. It's a Kiwi company owned by two families, where ethics are important, and a high standard of professionalism is expected. Our agents like to work collaboratively rather than competing with each other – and the client comes out the ultimate winner. Our IT and technical systems are state of the art, and a lot of money and effort is spent on keeping them that way. Barfoot & Thompson were recently thrilled to announce that, for the eighth year running to have won 'Large Agency of the Year' at the 2019 REINZ Awards for Excellence - the only agency to have ever won this award.

Alison has a background in the legal profession, having trained and worked as a legal executive as well as an office manager for over 27 years. Having that legal background gives her a distinct advantage to offer clients as it gives her a deeper understanding of the process from both sides and allows her to advise them in situations that they may not have found themselves in before.

“As a qualified legal executive I was accustomed to dealing with all sorts of people from every walk of life, and explaining details clearly and simply whilst understanding the contractual side. This transfers seamlessly now to talking to my owners and dealing with buyers” .

Supremely well prepared and efficient, Alison is focused on delivering exceptional service to her clients. With her PA, Cath, at hand to help, Alison is free to concentrate on her clients and their individual needs and getting the job done.

“I'm used to being organised and organising people. But I'm also good at listening to clients, adapting to different cultures and being sensitive to their requirements. I just love the diversity of the great variety of cultural groups in South Auckland.”

Changes in the market place present challenges that Alison relishes and there have been a lot of adjustments over the last 12 months mainly driven by the banks and the government with introduced legislation.

“The market peaked a few years ago and the government has done everything it could to slow down the market to bring back first home buyers. The introduction of anti-money laundering laws and the extension of the Brightline; from 2 to 5 years has meant that investors were holding back and both buyers and sellers are getting better value and opportunities with what is currently available. Recently my customers have been predominately first home buyers, Mums and Dads looking to downsize and retire and those wishing to take advantage of their Kiwisaver funds as deposits. I am finding that all these groups have renewed and fresh confidence in the market which makes it a great time to sell”.

For Alison, it all adds up to a great time to get in touch with her and check out your options. For her competitive spirit, it's just another challenge to get the very best outcome for you.

Alison made our real estate experience seamless and as stress-free as possible. She kept us informed every step of the way and took the time to ensure we understood the process and were very clear on what to expect through the journey of selling our very much loved family home. Alison is a person of real integrity and this was demonstrated in all aspects of her dealings with us during the marketing period and final sale of the home at auction. Knowing we could trust her to carry out the process with high ethics and standards made this a rewarding and positive experience for us. Alison had no reservations about going the extra mile when necessary and doing everything within her power to achieve an awesome outcome for us. We can now move on to our next project with confidence, knowing that our agent did the very best for us. Thank you Alison for your exceptional professional skills, and for truly understanding that selling a home is a very personal experience for your vendors - you made it about us, which sets you apart in the industry.

— Maree and Theo, Conifer Grove

My experience with Alison Kemp was awesome. I had recently had my house listed with another agency and it was the most stressful time of my life. My partner and I met Alison at an open home we attended and found her very knowledgeable. We listed with Alison and she was confident and upbeat, not once did she say anything negative. She had our house sold in two days after the first open home and pretty much got the asking price for me so I didn’t even have to negotiate. TOTALLY AMAZING and not one bit of stress. I would recommend her to everyone.

— Patrina, Papakura
