It’s a case of out with the old and in with the new for the Takanini Urgent Pharmacy. Established in November 1976, the pharmacy has been serving the community ever since, sharing the same site in Takanini as Counties Medical.
However, with the Medical centre requiring more room to expand services, the Pharmacy and Dentist have recently re-located directly behind the Medical building, into the new Gateway Takanini Complex.
Takanini Urgent Pharmacy operates 7 days per week, from 9am until 8pm. The bright, brand new location contains a much larger and improved retail pharmacy area and has some fantastic everyday specials for its customers whilst still retaining the full professional pharmaceutical service that locals have come to rely on.
Counties Medical Urgent Care and GP clinic will remain in the original Takanini site at 106 Great South Road and will continue to support Takanini Urgent Pharmacy in their now long-standing working relationship.
The opening hours for the Urgent Care clinic remain the same – 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week and they continue to have the support of the onsite Auckland Radiology Group adjacent to the clinic.
The Pharmacy has great internal and external signage directing clients from the old building to the new and all Counties Medical staff will be happy to direct patients to the new location.
Excitingly, Counties Medical are using this opportunity to expand and upgrade the Urgent Care and GP Clinics – using the old pharmacy space for a new waiting room. A full and long-awaited redecoration will be carried out with as little inconvenience as possible. A shared reception will be built in the new waiting room for both the Urgent Care and the GP Clinic which aims to providing a more efficient and supportive service for everyone.
Everyone at Takanini Urgent Pharmacy is eager to see the ‘old but looking new’ Counties Medical clinic and looks forward to continuing the important services we provide to the Takanini community from their own new location.
