Old, Flat or Bald?

The Benchmark For Tyre Service in Franklin Just Got a New Name.

with Advantage Tyres Pukekohe

Tyres come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing is for sure if you own or drive a vehicle of any size, you need to regularly maintain the wheels and replace the tyres to ensure you remain on the road! Ensuring you get the right tyres and the correct fit for your vehicle and needs is the expertise of Matt and his team at Keller Tyres on Manukau road and this year he wants you to know there are even more reasons to come and see him.

Now operating under his company name Keller Tyres and no longer trading as Advantage Tyres Pukekohe, Matt continues to offer the same great service while being able to expand his nationwide commercial service network beyond the Advantage network.

“Nothing will change for our customers in terms of the products we offer, however operating as a true independent store better reflects the fact that we are not motivated to sell products from only one supplier. We recommend the best tyres for our individual customers needs, not products that we directly benefit from selling over another which sets us apart from many other franchised tyre shops.” Enthuses Matt.

As someone who has previously worked for some of the world’s biggest tyre manufacturers including Michelin, Bridgestone, and custom tyre manufacturer, Kiwi Truck Tyres, Matt has a wealth of knowledge in the tyre industry, having started his journey as a tyre fitter at fifteen years old. He has owned Advantage tyres Pukekohe since 2019 and has established a reputation for both best practice and exceptional service within the local industry. He is a specialist in tyres for commercial, truck and farm vehicles and has expanded his onsite service fleet to 3 vehicles available to come and out and service or replace tyres either on location 24/7* or in the fully equipped workshop, no matter how big the job!

“We can handle any size tyres and have recently invested in an Italian made Corghi HD1800 HYDRUS which is a powerful oversized tyre fitting machine capable of mounting tyres to 16”-60” diameter wheels. The machine, itself weighing 2.2 tonne, is capable of lifting wheel/tyre assemblies weighing up to 3 tonne, so whatever it is, we have the equipment and expertise to fit it or fix it.” Enthuses Matt.

Keller Tyres has a strong focus on servicing local farmers and transport companies, Matt believes his level of service in this area is unmatched. “I personally handle all calls for afterhours emergency callouts 24/7* to ensure my customers can keep moving nationwide. My service network is unparalleled, in many main centres I have 2 or 3 different service providers I can call on for urgent work.” Matt is proud of the knowledge and skills everyone in the team brings and says Keller Tyres point of difference is their total service process allowing them to service any customers needs from your personal vehicle to your farm equipment, trucks and industrial machinery such as forklifts, loaders, mobile cranes and more.

“Most tyre shops either do retail or commercial well, not both. I can confidently say that we are able to fit tyres to high end European vehicles with ultra-low profile tyres to the highest standard, then head out and service your commercial fleet efficiently. I back this statement up with my 100% workmanship guarantee, if your tired of having your wheels scratched then you need to come and see us.” His team of 6, includes recent addition Craig Anderson, the former Pukekohe Bridgestone Manager, who brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, especially in the motorsport area, having raced streetstock cars for 23 years. A qualified mechanic, having worked on the NZV8, Mazda and Porsche racing series cars, Craig can offer mechanical advice where required.

Aaron Morrow ‘Double A’ is Keller’s Assistant Manager and takes pride in ensuring every single customer is well taken care of. He can’t get enough of tyres and fills his spare time doing pit crew work for the BNT NZ V8’s race series. Dedicated Serviceman Terry Coleman ‘TC’ has over 33 years’ experience in commercial tyres and is an expert in all areas, whether it be car, truck, agricultural, O.T.R. or industrial, his job along with Ayrton Groenestein ‘Tiny’, who has 6 years’ experience in commercial tyres is ensuring all commercial customers fleets are regularly monitored and up to scratch.

Rounding out the team is Deborah Thrupp, Keller’s office manager who brings 35 years of experience owning her own company ‘Evolve Builders’ together with her husband John.

Together, everyone at Keller's works tirelessly to ensure that everyone gets a top notch service. From price, advice, quick turnaround; the offer of a courtesy vehicle if required, all the way down to making sure every vehicle that comes through the workshop has its pressures checked and all wheel nuts are torqued to spec.
“It is important that we treat every customer and vehicle as if it was one of our own vehicles, and that means whether it is a family car, a student run around, or one of the biggest nationwide commercial fleets around, we do them all!.”

As a father, Matt knows the importance of keeping his family safe and it is knowledge he wants to impart to others, to keep the families of Pukekohe safe too. “Whether you are looking at tyres for your family vehicle, your farm, trucks or commercial equipment, there is a certain responsibility that goes with ensuring you keep everyone using the vehicle safe. I would invite anyone to come in and get us to check their tyres to make sure they are the functioning at the safest level they can be. There simply is no reason not to.”
